London Removals and Storage Modern Slavery Statement

London Removals and Storage is firmly committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings. We recognise our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. This statement outlines the steps we take to identify, prevent and address any risk of modern slavery in connection with our removals, storage and associated services.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour and human trafficking. This policy applies to every aspect of our business, including permanent and temporary staff, agency workers, contractors and all tiers of our supply chain. We refuse to knowingly work with any organisation or individual engaged in such practices and will immediately terminate relationships where credible evidence of modern slavery is found and not promptly and effectively remedied.

All managers and supervisors are responsible for promoting a culture in which unethical labour practices are never acceptable. Our expectation of zero tolerance is clearly communicated to employees and suppliers as a non-negotiable condition of working with London Removals and Storage.

Our Business and Supply Chains

London Removals and Storage provides domestic and commercial removals, storage solutions, packing services and associated logistics. Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, storage facilities, equipment, maintenance services and labour agencies. We recognise that some of these areas can be exposed to higher risks of labour exploitation, particularly where lower-skilled roles or subcontracted services are involved.

Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

We conduct proportionate and ongoing risk assessments to identify where the greatest potential exposure to modern slavery may exist in our operations and supply chains. This includes reviewing the nature of services and materials supplied to us, the geographical location of suppliers and the use of subcontracting or temporary labour. Where heightened risk is identified, we apply enhanced due diligence measures, including more frequent checks, additional documentation and closer engagement with the supplier.

Supplier Standards and Audits

Our suppliers are expected to uphold labour standards consistent with our zero-tolerance approach. We require suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded or involuntary labour and that their own supply chains adhere to similar standards. We reserve the right to carry out audits of suppliers where we consider it appropriate. These audits may include reviewing employment records, worker contracts and right to work documentation, and may involve confidential discussions with workers where necessary and appropriate.

Where non-compliance is identified, we seek prompt corrective action through an agreed remediation plan. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to address concerns in a timely and effective manner, we will consider suspending or terminating the relationship.

Training, Awareness and Reporting Channels

We provide targeted training to key staff involved in procurement, recruitment and site operations so that they can identify indicators of modern slavery and understand the appropriate steps to take if they have concerns. General awareness information is made available to all employees to reinforce our commitment and expectations.

Anyone working for or with London Removals and Storage is encouraged to report any suspicion or concern about potential modern slavery. Concerns can be raised to line managers, senior management or through internal reporting routes, and may be reported confidentially. We will investigate all reports promptly, fairly and sensitively, and will take action where needed to protect individuals who raise concerns in good faith.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We are committed to continuously improving our approach to preventing modern slavery. Each year, we review the effectiveness of our policies, risk assessments, supplier controls and training. This review considers any incidents reported, audit findings, changes to our operations and developments in best practice and legislation.

This Modern Slavery Statement is approved by the leadership of London Removals and Storage and is reviewed, updated and published on an annual basis to ensure it remains accurate, relevant and effective.
